Sustainable and Renewable Energies and Systems
View Published Articles →01About This Special Issue
Electrical Energy play a key role in human life, but with the traditional sources there is now general acceptance that the burning of fossil fuels is having a significant influence on the global climate, still purer with the nuclear power, this last leaves behind dangerous wastes for thousands of years and risks contamination of land, air, and water; the catastrophe of Japan is not far. Effective mitigation of climate change will require deep reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and minimize the need of nuclear power; hence, the world energy policy decision states that the objective is to facilitate a change to an ecologically sustainable energy production system. All renewable energy sources such as wind power, photovoltaics energy, Hydropower, biomass, biofuel, geothermal Energy, wave energy, tidal energy, hydrogen and fuel cells are included. The Artificial Intelligence control and optimisation techniques include, but are not limited to, Neural Network, Fuzzy logic, Genetic algorithm, Bee colony and PSO. This special issue will highlight the latest approaches to the topic of wind and renewable energy systems.02Meet the Guest Editors

Synergetic and Sliding Mode Controls of a PMSM: A Comparative Study
Issue: Volume 3, Issue 1-1, January 2015Pages: 22-26Received: 30 December 2014Accepted: 4 January 2015Published: 5 February 2015Abstract: Permanent magnet Synchronous machines (PMSM) provide high efficiency, compact size, robustness, lightweight, and low noise; these features qualify them as the best suitable machine for medical applications. Without forgetting its simple structure, high thrust, ease of maintenance, and controller feedback, make it possible to take the place of steam... Show More -
Open-Loop Voltage Control Voltage Source Inverter for a Linear Load & Non-Linear Load
Issue: Volume 3, Issue 1-1, January 2015Pages: 13-21Received: 23 August 2014Accepted: 24 September 2014Published: 17 October 2014Abstract: The conventional sources of energy are limited which are unable to meet the demand. There is always need of generation of electrical energy worldwide, may be in terms of few kilowatts to hundreds of kilowatts. The power requirement at the domestic level is terms of few kilowatts so there should be a way to meet the electrical demand at domestic lev... Show More -
Risk Management Methods Applied to Renewable and Sustainable Energy: A Review
Issue: Volume 3, Issue 1-1, January 2015Pages: 1-12Received: 5 August 2014Accepted: 17 September 2014Published: 17 October 2014Abstract: Renewable energy policy has always been recognized as a major incentive to the growth of renewable energy and market. In particular, in the last decade, renewable energy sources are considerably increased due to the supportive renewable energy policy worldwide. Policymakers keep on updating and revising policies in response to market changes and ad... Show More
