The concept of porous media is used in many areas of applied science and engineering, such as applied mechanics, chemistry, biology, material science, food science, geosciences, and chemical, petroleum, gas, civil, environmental, and nuclear engineering. Transport phenomena in porous materials, including single phase and multiphase fluid flow through porous media, heat conduction and convection in porous media, biomolecule and chemical composition as well as solid particle motions in porous media, and electrical and acoustical transport in porous media, are a subject of most common interest and have emerged as a separate field of study. Porous media transport phenomena, understood from the microscopic scale upward, cover the general theories behind flow and transport in porous media and form the basis for deterministic and stochastic models that describe them.Aims and Scope:
